Fun Summer @ cubs June 28, 2009

Well the summer term started well, cubs have been to play golf, play cricket and rounder’s, gone on a mini beast hunt. We still have plenty planned for the remainder of the term – pond dipping, first aid, tree identification and our annual BBQ and Swim.

We now look forward to next weekends COUNTY CAMP – Live the magic 2009

All of Birmingham County arriving at Blackwell Court over the weekend. WOW!!! I hope the weather stays nice for the fun things we will all get to do.

 

Also 10 cubs will enjoy 10 days away with Cub Odyssey 2009 during July and August – updates and photos will be available shortly.

District Sport day June 21, 2009

Well done to the cubs who entered in the district sports day this weekend. The cubs that turned up took part in many events, more than usual as so many cubs hadn’t turned up as expected.

The under 9½ finished 2nd overall, and the under 10½ finished joint 4th. The overall competition we jointly finished 1st with St Faith & St Laurence pack.

WELL DONE to all cubs who took part in an event.

Sorry folks i have been busy this week, but at long last i’ve now uploaded Pack holiday, 7 aside and Cub Odyssey fun day photos to the photo area.

Also a very well done to Danny, Daniel, Ben Wi, George, Harry L, Brett and Alex FW for their superb efforts today at the district 7 aside football competition. they all played superb for the pack and without having any subs for any games due to low numbers they did themselves and the pack proud. WELL DONE

If any cubs are still wanting to attend County camp we MUST have your numbers at teh latest TUESDAY after this could be too late.

Pack Holiday April 30, 2009

A number of cubs are off to pack holiday camp this weekend. We hope the weather will be kind to us.

The cubs will take part in fire lighting, bivouacking, climbing, archery and many other new activities.

All activities will be credited towards badge work which a number of cubs will achieve.

District Cyclo Cross March 8, 2009

Well done to those cubs that braved the cold and wet weather this morning for the annual cyclo cross competition.

Connor, Sean, Alex R, Luke K, Lily, Lauren, Ben W all raced in their age races and did extremely well. Especially after hanging around in a sudden down pour.

The beavers, scouts and network also took part in the competition and well done to the beavers who had Ben R, James S and Alex D attend and they finished in first place overall. Well done

Well done to both the chess and draughts teams who played today in the District cub chess and draughts competitions.

 

Chess – Luke K, Harry B, James W, Ben Wi

Draughts – Antonia, Daniel P, Danny B, Brett M

 

Both teams played extremely well in all their games they had to play The chess team finishing in 6th place and the Draughts team finishing in 3rd place out of 14 packs.

 

Quinton and Ariel were the overall winners in the competitions so congratulations to those.

For the first time in many years the leaders have decided it would be fun for the cubs to make pancakes as well as decorate their own chocolate eggs at Cubs on Tuesday night.

Cubs were reminded before half term to bring an apron, i wonder how many will bring one?

We will put some photos on the site of some of the cubs designing and decorating their pancakes / eggs.
